John K. Griffith

John Keller Griffith was a member of the US House of Representatives from Louisiana. Born in Baton Rouge on October 16, 1882, he earned a college degree from Louisiana State University. Griffith later earned a medical degree from Tulane University and began working at an insane asylum in Jackson, Louisiana. From 1910 to 1937, he worked as a physician, taking time out of his work during World War II to serve in the US Army Medical Corps. In 1936, he was elected to the first of two terms in Congress. However, he was defeated in a renomination bid for a third term. Griffith died on September 25, 1942.
