John Irwin Sr. (born: - died: ) was a politician from Alberta, Canada.

John was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta for Calgary as a Conservative member. He held his seat from 1926 to 1940 through 3 terms in office.

John Irwin's grandson, also named John Irwin, is a long time serving Mayor of the Municipality of Crowsnest Pass, Alberta.
