From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

John Hearle Tremayne (17 March 1780 - 27 August 1851) was Tory MP for Cornwall from 12 Nov 1806 until 1826 [1] and a JP.

He was born on 17 March 1780, the son of Rev. Henry Hawkins Tremayne (1741-1829) and Harriet, his wife, the daughter of John Hearle of Penryn.

When he inherited the Heligan estate he continued the agricultural and horticultural developments started by his father.

He was elected as one of the two MPs for the County of Cornwall in the elections held in 1806, 1807, 1812, 1818 and 1820, for the Tory Party. He served as High Sheriff of Cornwall in 1833.
