John Hamilton-Leslie, 9th Earl of Rothes

John Hamilton Leslie, 9th Earl of Rothes (1679–1722) was a Scottish nobleman.
The eldest son of Charles Hamilton, 5th Earl of Haddington and Margaret Leslie, 8th Countess of Rothes. He succeeded his mother in 1700, with his younger brother succeeding as 6th Earl of Haddington.
He was appointed Keeper of the Privy Seal of Scotland in 1704, aided the Union of 1707 and was a Scottish Representative peer from 1707 to 1722. He was appointed Vice Admiral of Scotland in 1714 and fought against the Old Pretender in 1715. He was Governor of Stirling Castle from 1716 to 1722.
