John Hall (cricketer)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
John Hall (August 20, 1874 – November 9, 1925) was an English cricketer. Born and dying in Worksop, he was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler who played for Derbyshire between 1895 and 1897.
Hall's career, which began the year Derbyshire entered the County Championship for the first time, saw him score a duck in his debut innings, and while the team went on to finish highly in the year's County Championship, Hall appeared only once more during the 1895 season until reappearing at the back end of 1896. However, this was followed up by just one last County Championship appearance, scoring a pair in an innings defeat to Surrey.
He was a genuine tailender, with an overall batting average of less than 1.
