John Hales (or John Halse) was a medieval Bishop of Coventry and Lichfield.

Briefly during the restoration of King Henry VI of England in 1470 he was named Keeper of the Privy Seal, but he lost the office on the restoration of King Edward IV of England in 1471.[1]

He was nominated on September 20, 1459, and consecrated on November 25, 1459. He died on between September 15 and September 30, 1490.[2]
