John Gruber (born 1973) is a technical writer and technology pundit from the greater Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area. Gruber received his Bachelor of Science in computer science from Drexel University.
He is the author of Apple- and Web-related weblog Daring Fireball, which he writes as a full-time job. He also co-hosts a podcast entitled "The Talk Show" with Dan Benjamin of Hivelogic and created Markdown, a text-to-HTML formatting syntax for web writers, with Aaron Swartz. He is also involved with other web-related side projects.
