John Grant (born 9 August 1981 in Manchester) is an English footballer, currently playing for Aldershot Town in the Conference National. He usually plays as a centre-forward.
He started his career as a trainee at Crewe Alexandra, playing there for four seasons, of which the last he spent at Northwich Victoria on loan after a similar spell at Hyde United.
In the previous four seasons he has spent a season each at Hereford United, Telford United, Shrewsbury Town and Halifax Town. He was top scorer at Halifax in the 2005-2006 season and scored in the Conference playoff final of that season that the Shaymen lost against one of his former clubs, Hereford. Despite being offered a new contract, Grant chose instead to join Aldershot Town.
In John's first season at Aldershot Town he finished as the clubs top scorer, with 23 goals from 48 games.[citation needed]
