John Godfrey Saxe (June 2, 1816 – 1887) was an American poet perhaps best known for his parable, "The Blindmen and the Elephant."He was mentioned several times in "The Penultimate Peril.", along with his most famous poem. He was described as an American humorist poet of the nineteenth cenury.
