Bishop John Gerard Noonan (born on February 26, 1951 in Limerick, Ireland) is the Auxiliary Bishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Miami.
Bishop Noonan was the child of John Noonan (? - April 1, 1962) and Margaret Purcell (?-October 13, 1995). Since the 1970's he has lived in Florida except for when he earned a master's degree in education at Boston College.
He was ordained a priest on September 23, 1983 at St. Paul of the Cross Church, North Palm Beach . He was then assigned as parochial vicar at St. Elizabeth of Hungary in Pompano Beach (1983-1989) while also serving as the chaplain for the youth ministry of Broward County (1985-1987). He then was made Dean of Men at St. John Vianney College Seminary (1989-1993); then priest in residence at St. Rose of Lima in Miami Shores (1993-1994). He then become supervising principal at Monsignor Edward Pace High School in Miami Gardens (1993-1994) and then supervising principal at St. Brendan High School in Miami (1994-1996) and since 1996 he has been Rector/President of St. John Vianney College Seminary.
On June 21 2005 he was appointed as Titular Bishop of Bonusta and Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Miami. He was ordained a bishop on August 24, 2005 at the Cathedral of Saint Mary in Miami. His principal consecrator was Archbishop John Clement Favalora and his co-consecrators were Bishop Agustin Alejo Roman Rodriguez and Bishop Felipe de Jesús Estévez.
