John George Hughes

John George Hughes was the ninth Suffragan Bishop of Kensington [1]. He was born on 30 January 1935 [2] and educated at Queens’ College, Cambridge. Ordained in 1961 he began his career with a Curacy in Brighouse[3] and was then successively Vicar of St John’s, Clifton[4], Director of Education within the Diocese of Wakefield , Secretary of the Advisory Council for the Church’s Ministry and Warden of St. Michael's College, Llandaff before ascending to the Episcopate -a post he held from 1987 until his death on 19 August 1994.
