John Ganson

John Ganson (January 1, 1818 - September 28, 1874) was a U.S. Representative from New York.
Born in Le Roy, New York, Ganson attended the public schools and Le Roy Academy. He was graduated from Harvard University in 1839. He studied law. He was admitted to the bar in 1846 and commenced practice in Canandaigua, New York. He moved to Buffalo the same year. He served as member of the State senate in 1862 and 1863.
Ganson was elected as a Democrat to the Thirty-eighth Congress (March 4, 1863-March 3, 1865). He was not a candidate for renomination in 1864. He resumed the practice of law at Buffalo, New York. Railroad director. He served as delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 1864. He died in Buffalo, New York, September 28, 1874. He was interred in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
