John Francis Buckland

John Francis Buckland (1825 - 1910) was an auctioneer and member of the Queensland Parliament.
John Francis Buckland was born in Wraysbury, England in 1825. He arrived in Queensland in 1862 from England where he established an auctioneering partnership with Simon Fraser (Fraser & Buckland, 1863-1873).[1] His uncle, William Thomas Buckland, was an auctioneer in Windsor, England.[2] Later he was in business on his own account as an auctioneer and broker. Between 1882 and 1892 he was a memeber of Queensland Parliament in the seat of Bulimba in Brisbane.[3] His wife was Ellen Gertrude Ashton, daughter of Joseph Ashton and Mary Hewison.
