John Field (songwriter)

John William Michael Field Born 15th May, 1962 is an Australian composer/songwriter who has written a large number of songs for the internationally acclaimed, Australian Children's Performers, The Wiggles He is the older brother of blue wiggle, Anthony Field. Besides writing for the famous children's group, Field has composed a musical - Evie and the Birdman, which originally starred Sam Moran, who was to take the place of yellow wiggle Greg Page upon his retirement in 2006.

Prior to writing for The Wiggles, John was a member of the popular Australian rock band, The Cockroaches, alongside his brothers Paul and Anthony and another future Wiggle, Jeff Fatt. In 1992, John was a member of The Honeymen (alongside Sean Sennett). The pair released two singles 'Felt Like A Kiss' and 'Motorbike Of Love'. John has also formed some of Australian most successful live bands including The Alligators and The Oomph. His current outfit, The John Field Band is one of the most highly sought after party and corporate function bands in Australia. The John Field Band has released two albums, a self-titled debut, and a highly anticipated follow-up, 'Night Will Fall', released in December 2007.

John has also written some of Australia's best known commercial jingles, including one for Paddy's Markets. He has a degree in Education.

In May 2008 John was diagnosed as suffering from Dupuytrens Contracture. He is currently seeking treatment.

John is married to Jacqueline Fallon and has four children. He resides in Sydney, Australia.
