As of fall 2006 there were 228 students enrolled at John F. Kennedy High School. Under the current OSAA standards, Kennedy is in the 2A classification.[2] Kennedy's ethnic makeup is 72% Caucasian, 27% Hispanic, 1% African-American.[3]
[edit] Curriculum
JFKHS offers a variety of classes, from standard curriculum to honor courses. Kennedy currently operates on a seven period schedule.[4] Kennedy also offers many extracurricular activities such as student government, FBLA-PBL, and FFA. The band is another popular program through the school district, with multiple performances throughout the year. In 2007, the band placed third in the OSAA 2A/1A Band Championship. In the same competition in 2008, the band finished second place.

Kennedy is a member of the Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA), offering a number of interscholastic varsity sports, including football, volleyball, cheerleading, boys and girls basketball, cross country, baseball, softball, and track and field. The school mascot is the trojan and the colors are red, white, and blue. They have had one state championship, by their girls' track team, as well as many other second and third place finishes.
