John F. Ashton

John F. Ashton (1947—) is an Australian research scientist and Christian author. He is strategic research manager for the Sanitarium Health Food Company. His books cover themes including creation, health, and the existence of God.

He has prize winning degrees in chemistry. His PhD thesis from the University of Newcastle outlined a holographic model for the interpretation of scientific data, and won university's Institute of Educational Research Prize. He has also completed a research degree in epistemology, a branch of philosophy concerned with the nature and scope of knowledge.

Ashton has taught science and philosophy at colleges and universities, and has held senior research positions in the food industry for over 30 years.

He and his wife Colleen live in New South Wales, Australia. He is a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Ashton is a young earth creationist:

"... I am convinced that a literal understanding of the Genesis account of creation is the most reasonable explanation out of all the current theories of how we came to be here."[1]

Ashton believes that some dreams, premonitions, visions and ancient prophecies are accurate. (See The Seventh Millennium).
