John Ewbank

John Ewbank (born on December 6, 1968 in Eastleigh, Hampshire) is a British-Dutch composer/lyricist/producer.
He wrote/produced a record number of fifteen number 1 Dutch Top 40-hits, of which 12 for Marco Borsato, for whom he has been producing and writing since 1994. They sold over 4 million albums together in the Benelux. Other local artists include Ferry Corsten, Trijntje Oosterhuis, Van Velzen, Esmee Denters, Gordon, Paul de Leeuw, Rob de Nijs, Nikki, Hero, Maud, Tim Immers,..
First no.1 in 1991 with Gordon, 'Kon ik maar even bij je zijn' ('If I could only be with you'). In 1996 he composed the anthem for the opening of the AJAX Amsterdam Arena in 1996. His music is featured in Quentin Tarantino's 'True Romance' (rave music in club scene). He composed scores for movies 'Superstition' with Charlotte rampling and for 'Floris' the movie. In 2002 John Ewbank worked with Ferry Corsten for Corsten's latest production under his 'Gouryella' alias. This production is called 'Ligaya'. He also wrote and produced the no.1 hitsong for the Dutch Idols finals 2008 ('Hello World').
He is currently venturing out internationally, working on the Musical version of 'Carmen' under direction of Cirque de Soleil's Franco Dragone, scheduled for Madrid fall 2009 and workshopped in La Jolla Playhouse, San Diego June 2007.
In Amsterdam he is working on Borsato's 7th studio album and musical-directing the 'Symfonica in Rosso' spectacle in september featuring Lionel Richie, for which he wrote the duet 'Face in the Crowd' between Lionel and Trijntje Oosterhuis.
