John Discepolo

John Discepolo is an American news anchor. John Discepolo serves as the morning sports anchor for "CBS 2 News This Morning," weekdays from 5-7am.
Prior to his arrival at CBS 2, Discepolo served as the main sports anchor at WNYW Fox 5 for five years. Prior to his arrival in New York, Discepolo was the weekend anchor at KDFW Fox 4 in Dallas for three years. During his time in the Lone Star State, Discepolo traveled with the Cowboys, and was also a pre-game host for the Texas Rangers and Dallas Stars. He also covered high school football extensively and even turned a couple of laps covering NASCAR as well.
Discepolo arrived in Texas from a brief one-year stint at WRGB Channel 6 in Albany, NY. While in Albany his focus was on Division I college hockey and high school athletes.
Discepolo's first taste of New York sports television came in 1996, when he was hired to be the weekend sports anchor for News 12 Westchester. Beyond the many stories he covered, he was best known for his weekly "Team of the Week" special.
Discepolo is a graduate of Hofstra University where he played football as a kicker and punter for the Division I-AA Pride, and played with former New York Jets player Wayne Chrebet.
In his spare time Discepolo loves to travel, and is passionate about home construction and design, and airplanes. He currently resides in New Jersey with his wife Shay.
