John Colville (MP)

John Colville JP (3 July 1852 - 22 August 1901) was a Scottish Liberal politician. He was Provost of Motherwell from 1888 until 1895 and Liberal Member of Parliament for Lanarkshire North-East from 1895 until his death.
His son John Colville, 1st Baron Clydesmuir was also a Member of Parliament, and Secretary of State for Scotland.
