John Campbell Paterson

John Campbell Paterson is the current long serving Anglican Bishop of Auckland. [1] Born on 4 January 1945, he was educated at King's College, Auckland and the University of Auckland[2] His qualifications are BA (Auckland), LTh (St John), and DipPublicSpeaking (NZ Speech Board)

He then embarked on an ecclesiastical career with a curacy at Whangarei. Vicar of Waimate from 1971 to 1976 he gained further experience through work as a Chaplain and administrative posts within the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia before elevation to the Bishopric of Auckland in 1994.
