John Brooke

John Brooke (born 1920) was a significant British historian. Earlier in his career he acted as assistant to Lewis Namier: he continued Namier's work on British politics and parliament in the latter part of the eighteenth century. From 1964 he was Senior Editor of the Royal Commission on Historical Manuscripts.
