John Brogan (born March 9, 1954, in Hamilton) is a former Scottish footballer who played for several Scottish clubs in the 1970s and 80s.
By the time he finished his spell at his second senior club St. Johnstone, he had become that club's record goalscorer with 140 goals in league and cup matches. Brogan's record tally of goals is still a St Johnstone club record [1].
Brogan was appointed manager of Stirling Albion in 1988 and guided the club to the Second Division Championship in 1991, a Scottish Cup Quarter Final in 1990 and ensured that the team became the highest ranked part time team in Scotland. He was sacked by the Yo-Yo's in 1994 with the club facing relegation, a situation only caused by re-organisation of the SFL. He bounced back with an unhappy spell in charge of Arbroath between 1995 and 1996.
Following his spell at Gayfield, he moved into the juniors where he and Martin Clark took charge of East Region outfit Armadale Thistle then Blantyre Vics, where they won promotion in 1998.
Currently John Brogan is manager of East Kilbride Thistle in the Junior Leagues, where he won the Sectional League Cup in 2002 and promotion from Central League Division One in 2005.
