John Briggs (1789-1861) was an English Roman Catholic bishop. He was ordained priest in 1814 and became a bishop in 1833. On the restoration of the Catholic hierarchy by Pius IX in 1850 he was appointed Bishop of the Diocese of Beverley. He resigned as Bishop of Beverley in 1860 and died in 1861.
