John Booth (d. 5 April 1478) was an English clergyman who held numerous appointments in the church and royal service.

In 1457 he was treasurer of the diocese of York, and then in 1459 Archdeacon of Richmond as well as treasurer of Lichfield Cathedral and Canon of Sallowe and Prebendary of Strensall. During 1461 to 1465 he was secretary to Edward IV. For two years in 1463 and 1464 he was Chancellor of the University of Cambridge. In 1464 he acquired the Prebendary of Bole and was named Principal Secretary to Edward IV.
He was named Bishop of Exeter on March 15, 1465 and was consecrated bishop on July 7, 1465.[1]
From 1471 to 1478 he served as a member of Edward's Council.
