John Benedetto

A leading researcher in wavelet analysis and Director of the Norbert Wiener Center for Harmonic Analysis and Applications, John Joseph Benedetto (July 16, 1939-) is a Professor of Mathematics at the University of Maryland, College Park. Awarded the Distinguished Scholar-Teacher in 1999, he founded the Journal of Fourier Analysis and Applications as well as the book series Applied and Numerical Harmonic Analysis, both published by Birkhauser. He has edited or co-authored 9 books, published over 150 research papers, and has directed 47 Ph.D students.
