John Ascuaga's Nugget Casino Resort is a casino in Sparks, Nevada. The main portion of the casino consists of two 29-story towers nestled between Interstate 80 and the Union Pacific rail yard. There are additional attached buildings underneath and across Interstate 80 from the towers.
The Nugget first opened in 1955. In 1960 John Ascuaga, then general manager, bought the Nugget. The east tower was built in 1984, the west tower in 1996. John Ascuaga's Nugget is now a full destination resort complete with 8 award-winning restaurants, a full-service salon and spa, year-round indoor atrium pool, and a wedding chapel.
