John Abbott (born 19 April 1945) is a British actor. His television credits include Timeslip, Z Cars, Softly, Softly, Special Branch, Doctor Who (in the serial Horror of Fang Rock), Edward and Mrs Simpson, Angels, Bergerac, Casualty and Wycliffe.
Abbott was also cast by his director from his Doctor Who story as the Vicar in the early series of Emmerdale Farm and recounts that anecdote on the commentary on the DVD release of that story.
Abbott was also the Vicar who appeared at the end of the film "Four Weddings and a Funeral" and asked Hugh Grant if he could be of assistance when Hugh was cursing at the prospect of his impending marriage to the wrong girl.
