Johann von Fürstenstein (1588-1625) was one of the most famous generals from the Duchy of Württemberg. He was born in August 1588 in Stuttgart. In the age of 18 he joined the army. Soon he became an officer. He also ended a Kriegschule in Prussia and became one of the best students. In 1615 Duke of Württemberg made him a general. In the times of peace he was a Director of Kriegschule Stuttgart. He wrote 13 books about modern war and history of Germany.
He was also a Great Flagmen of Württemberg and a member of a Kriegsrat des Württemberg.
He died in a battle near Stuttgart in the Thirty Years' War. He was one of the best generals (but not really known) in XVII'th century Europe.
