Johann Baptist von Lampi the Younger

Johann Baptist von Lampi the Younger (1775-1837) was an Austrian portrait painter. He was born at Trento and studied under his father, Johann Baptist von Lampi the Elder, and later at the Academy at Vienna. He went with his father for thirteen years to St. Petersburg, and became a member of the Academy at that city as well as of that at Vienna in 1813. He painted many of the most distinguished personages of his time. He died at Vienna.
