Johan Längqvist

Johan Längqvist (born August 23, 1963 in Järfälla, Sweden) was the session vocalist for Swedish doom metal band Candlemass during their first studio recording. He recorded their first album Epicus Doomicus Metallicus and departed soon after, (despite Candlemass' countless efforts to make him stay) reputably to work on a pop project he had started earlier. Unlike his successor Messiah Marcolin, Längqvist was a baritone, which meant he had a lower pitched voice and therefore sang the songs in a lower vocal range than the ones that followed with Marcolin as vocalist.
