Johan C. Verbeke

Johan C. Verbeke, born 1951, is the permanent representative of Belgium to the United Nations and to its Security Council. He currently serves as the UN special coordinator for Lebanon, meaning he serves as the United Nations Secretary General's representative in Lebanon.[1] He presented his credentials to the United Nations Secretary-General on September 16, 2004. Prior to that, he had been the Chef de Cabinet of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He previously worked in the Ministry as the Deputy Director General for Political Affairs and as as the Deputy Chief of Mission in Washington, D.C.
