[edit] Summary

This is a photograph of John Stewart Service in Yenan, China, in 1944. It was created by scanning in a photograph from Dixie Mission: The United States Army Observer Group in Yenan, 1944 by David D. Barrett and then cropping out Service's image. The original photograph, a group photo, as reproduced in Dixie Mission were souvenirs to Barrett by Communist photographs in the same time period. Barrett passed away in 1977. Regardless, I believe this picture passes as a "created" item, and thus free to use. RebelAt 06:00, 3 December 2005 (UTC)
