I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Derek Wilmarth, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at its talk page. Removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, but the article may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. [edit] Bogus copy-and-paste "moves"

Do not do that again. If you want to rename an article, use the move button. That is what it is there for. Copying-and-pasting does not preserve author history, as required by the GFDL. Uncle G (talk) 20:34, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

Uncle G doesn't appear particularly polite. However, he is right that what you did is not the proper procedure because it fails to move the edit history. When you move a page by hitting the "move" button, the article's edit history gets moved along with the article to the new title. A redirect page is automatically created under the old title, and the new redirect page's edit history shows that it was created at the time of the move by the person who hit the "move" button.
