I think you should go ahead with a rewrite if you think you can improve the article(s). BUT, in a high level topic normally we would not just say "The beginings of manufacturing is covered in the Industrial Revolution." Rather, it is better to have a condensed overview of the industrial revolution in the manufacuring article, along with an italisized statement indicating that more detail can be found in the article on the main article on the industrial revolution.
