I've joined Wikipedia because I am impressed that it makes so much information available free of charge, and has a community focus.
I work and live in historic houses in England, and am responsible for a small team of housekeepers at a property in York, North Yorkshire.
Recently I have become more interested in expressing my interests and learning with others, but I want to experiment without the strings attached to academic or commercial work.
I am hoping to explore pages to do with my interests -
- house purchase
- salsa dancing
- buildings of the seventeenth century, for example Lodge Park, listed under The National Trust
- Boulle work, and the work of Andre Charles Boulle
- The lost islanders of Bikini Atoll
- Creative writing
- Careers in heritage and historic houses
- Tobacco - which currently I enjoy
- Amnesty International, and Voluntary Service Oversees.
I know that the Lodge Park article doesn't exist yet, so I'm hoping to cut my teeth on that one...
