[edit] Harcourt Brace
Removed this sentence: In 1919 he was a co-founder of the publishing firm of Harcourt, Brace and Company. Neither the online company histories of Harcourt Trade Publishers or Harcourt Assessment mention Spingarn as a cofounder, although Harcourt and Brace were mentioned as being friends at Columbia U., where Spingarn was a professor. --Blainster 22:35, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
- The "external references" links to brief biographies in the Columbia Encyclopedia and the archives at the Metz Library of the New York Botanical Garden do list Springarn as a cofounder of Harcourt, so I will restore the sentence pending further confirmation. --Blainster 22:56, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
- Hm, interesting. The plot thickens! --AW 20:39, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
