[edit] Harcourt Brace

Removed this sentence: In 1919 he was a co-founder of the publishing firm of Harcourt, Brace and Company. Neither the online company histories of Harcourt Trade Publishers or Harcourt Assessment mention Spingarn as a cofounder, although Harcourt and Brace were mentioned as being friends at Columbia U., where Spingarn was a professor. --Blainster 22:35, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

The "external references" links to brief biographies in the Columbia Encyclopedia and the archives at the Metz Library of the New York Botanical Garden do list Springarn as a cofounder of Harcourt, so I will restore the sentence pending further confirmation. --Blainster 22:56, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
Hm, interesting. The plot thickens! --AW 20:39, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
