[edit] Notability

I removed the notability tag; per reading the guidelines for notability he was clearly a political figure. The fact that he was shot to death by British soldiers makes it so. He was a revolutionary. Some references have been added by others so there is some satisfaction in it. I recommend the article be left as others can build on it. I would do it if I had the resources in North America. I will write to some persons who live in Galway and get more information to improve the article. Bottom line it seems it would be a censorship and loss of information to delete the article. Sadly, many Irish people were shot by by the British forces forces during the War of Independence, and death alone is not evidence of notability. The test of notability in WP:BIO requires substantial coverage in independent reliable sources, so I will restore the notbaility tag in the hope that someone cite the references to establish notability. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 01:23, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
Scrub that, I see that refs have already been added. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs)
