Joey McCarthy (born October 7, 1972 in Mendham, New Jersey) is a NASCAR Busch East Series driver. He currently drives the #3 Chevrolet for STI Motorsports. McCarthy has 48 Karting victories and was the New Jersey State Champion in 1987.

[edit] NEXTEL Cup Series
McCarthy would make five attempts during the 2005 NEXTEL Cup season. Of those five attmepts he would make his first race at New Hampshire. He started the #92 TrimSpa Dodge for Front Row Motorsports in 39th position and completed 295 of the 300 laps in route to a 31st place finish. His other four attempts he made in the #34 Chevrolet for Mach 1 Racing and he was unable to break into the field.

He made his first Busch Series start during the 1996 season in the #11 Rent-A-Wreck Chevrolet. McCarthy started the Meridian Advantage 200 in the 42nd position and finished the race in the 34th position. He would start five races during the 1997 season for James Pritchard Motorsports. In the #41 Rent-A-Wreck Chevrolet he would post a best finish of 28th at Nazareth. In 1999, McCarthy would make two more starts for James Pritchard Motorsports. His best finish, 29th place, would come at Dover in the #41 Jerry Simon Chevrolet. He would attempt three more races in 1999, however he had no sponsorship and was unable to qualify for the races.

McCarthy made his first Craftsman Truck Series attempt in 2005. Driving the #48 James Western Star/Sterling Dodge owned by Ron Rhodes he was unable to qualify for Kroger 250 at Martinsville.
