Joey Greco or Joel Greco is an American television host best known for hosting the reality TV show Cheaters. Greco was born , raised in New York, and educated at Evangel University, a private liberal arts college in Springfield, Missouri, receiving a B.A. in Psychology,[1] before receiving a Master's Degree in Counseling at a Louisiana Tech University.[2] He began his working career as a counselor, later becoming a fitness trainer, before switching careers yet again to become a real estate manager.[2]
As a fitness trainer he landed a job on ESPN's hip-hop oriented fitness show, Fitness Pros. He attended acting classes and got work for a variety of low-budget films, TV shows and commercials. In December 2002 he replaced Tommy Habeeb as host of Cheaters after Habeeb resigned following a dispute with the production company. Currently, Greco remains the presenter of the show, and in the course of his time there, he (and his fellow camera and security crew) has been arrested and charged with various crimes involving confrontations on the program.[1] He has also allegedly been stabbed by a suspected cheater in a very memorable episode in 2003, although Dallas police have no record of the incident. Greco and a cameraman illegally boarded a private boat on open water. The tape of the incident, entitled "Cheaters get even,"]].[3] has been put onto youtube, within the tape is said by the paramedic that Greco received a 3 inch stab wound to his lower abdomen. The tape, in better quality, has aired on numerous countdown shows. Approximately at 0:49 a substance is profusely leaking out of greco soaking his pants. It has been speculated that because this was a private boat and Greco and his crew did illegally board it and refused to leave when asked, that the Castle Doctrine was enacted, although the law does not seem to be prevalent in California.
