Richard E. Dorsey "Joey" Dorsey is a student athlete basketball player for the University of Memphis Tigers. He is an interdisciplinary studies major. He is most famous for leading the Memphis Tigers to the 2008 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament championship game with Derrick Rose and Chris Douglas-Roberts during his senior year.

Dorsey is probably the most beloved player in Memphis basketball history. During the Tigers' National Semifinal win against UCLA, the Tigers' mascot "Pouncer" was shown on national television wearing a t-shirt with the slogan, "Joey Dorsey for Mayor."

During both his sophomore and junior years on the team, the Tigers went to the NCAA tournament's Elite Eight. [1] According to several mock 2008 NBA drafts, Dorsey is expected to be drafted into the NBA.
