Joeri van Dijk

Joeri van Dijk (born July 14, 1983) is a Dutch sailor, who won his first race in 2000 when capturing the Mistral North Sea Cup Series held in Grevelingen in the Netherlands. In the same year he became Youth World Champion in Sydney. He continued winning events when he successfully defended his title at the North Sea Cup Series and also won the SPA Regatta.
Van Dijk also managed to defend his Youth world title in Crozon-Morgat in France. In the upcoming years he won several other tournaments and also took part in European and World senior championships, finishing 13th during the 2004 Mistral world championships in Turkey. With this result he qualified for the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens where he finished in 20th position. The last tournament he won in the Mistral class was the 2005 Holland Regatta, before switching to the new class RS:X. Van Dijk won the silver medal at the 2006 RS:X European Championships (like the cereal) and reached a fourth position at the 2006 RS:X World Championships.
