Joel Theissen (born August 12th 1986) is an Australian football (soccer) player who plays for Cape Cod Crusaders of the United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League (PDL) in the US and Canada, which is the fourth tier competition of the American Soccer Pyramid.
He is a left-sided midfielder or defender, and previously played with former NSL side Newcastle United.
In September 2006, Theissen caught the eye of Sydney FC Coach Terry Butcher, and was placed on a short-term contract the A-League club to cover for the injured Robbie Middleby. After leaving Sydney FC Theissen had a small stint at Marconi Stallions before joining Olympic.
In March 2008 he signed with Cape Cod Crusaders in the Premier Development League (PDL) in the US. Joel is attending the University of New Mexico.
