Joel Dreessen (born July 26, 1982 in Ida Grove, Iowa) is an American football tight end for the Houston Texans of the National Football League. He was drafted by the New York Jets in the sixth round as the 198th overall pick of the 2005 NFL Draft. He played college football at Colorado State University.
Dreessen attended Fort Morgan High School in Fort Morgan, Colorado and graduated with the class of 2000. In 1999, Fort Morgan was the Colorado 3A State champions. Dreessen was also a member of the all-state team in Colorado that year.
On October 28, 2007, Joel Dreessen caught his first NFL touchdown pass, a 28 yard reception in the fourth quarter from quarterback Sage Rosenfels against the San Diego Chargers at San Diego's Qualcomm Stadium. It was Houston's only touchdown in a 35-10 loss, and Dreessen was named Houston's top offensive player despite only one reception.
He has the worst player rating in Madden NFL 08 with a 45.
