Jose Edwiniel Guilas, more popularly known as "Joee Guilas," is a Philippine TV news personality who is also a respected figure in the business circles as a marketing communications executive. While anchoring IBC 13’s late evening newscast “News Tonight,” Joee is concurrently the Vice President and head of the Corporate Communications Division of RCBC (the Philippines’ 4th largest bank in terms of capital base). In 2007, he completed the prestigious Group Study Exchange Program of the Rotary Club Foundation International, a vocational, cultural and ambassadorial exchange tour in the US, by topping a search among thousands of Filipino professionals who applied for the grant that year. Prior to his US trip, Guilas was previously the business anchor of RPN’s longest running English news program, “NewsWatch” and was formerly seen doing the news as a reporter and then as an anchor in ABC5, ABC-CBN and RPN 9 (in that order, chronologically!). An insightful writer, he also worked as a Columnist, for Business World publication Men’s Zone. Side by side by his banking career, Guilas is also VP for Communications of the Philippine Integrated Advertising Agency (PIAA). Joee likewise headed the communications teams of such corporations as Sun Life Financial-Philippines, the Philippine National Bank, and UCPB. He is also a well-respected Public Relations and Image Counselor, on consultancy basis, for some of the country’s leading business (CEOs) and political personalities.
A BS Economics graduate of the University of the Philippines, Joee showed bright promise as a student as one of the pioneering graduates of Torres High School’s accelerated secondary education program for gifted students.
At present, Joee is an image model for innovative men’s wear label Obra ni Juan.
