Joe Sernio

Joe Sernio (born Joseph Anthony Sernio Jr. on November 27, 1980 in Secaucus, New Jersey) is an American actor. He was first noticed for the role of "Phil" in Love Monkey.[1] He was also noticed in the May 2006 issue of Stuff as one of "The Real Goodfellas".[2] Since then he has appeared on As The World Turns, Hope and Faith, Haunting Evidence,[3] and has also made his name as "The Bentley Diamond Guy"[4] being featured in all commercials[5] and print work.

[edit] Early professional life

He worked in the field for the Tolly Group[6] as an MIS (Management Information Systems) Technical Support Coordinator managing network infrastructure for about a year, when the tragic loss of his father launched him into a career in the food business. Following in the steps laid out by his father, Joe became the co-owner of the 4 Fifty 5 Restaurant Bar Lounge in Jersey City, New Jersey. Sernio sold the restaurant to a firm still maintaining shares as a silent partner and accepted another computer job in New York City for Mark Echo Enterprises.

While working in New York, he attended The Ted Bardy Studio for acting and within months moved forward to one on ones with Bardy and fellow coach Glen Vincent. Confident in his skill and persona, Joe began marketing himself at networking parties all over Manhattan and within three weeks time was signed to his first agency. In only a year and a half, Joe has worked on the feature Spinning Into Butter[7] CBS' Love Monkey;[8] ABC's Hope and Faith,[9] he has been interviewed by New York Rocks TV[10] and The Vinny Vella Show, has been written up in The River View Observer,[11] The Asbury Park Press[12] and The Jersey Journal, and has appeared in the May 2006 issue of Stuff [13] for a two page spread on Italian actors in the business. On his off time Joe acts in a collection of short films written and directed by Nick Pavano[14] of Lightning films. Joe also helps The Ashley Lauren Foundation.[15] He appears and speaks on behalf of the foundation as well as pays several visits to children fighting cancer. Joe is also involved in The Garden State Film Festival[16] based out of Asbury Park, New Jersey.

He appeared in Haunting Evidence[17] as George Allen Smith[18] as well as landing the lead role of Joe Nuzzo in Lightning Films' The Roadhouse.[19] with Vinny Vella, and Monica Knight[20]

Most recently he was featured in Currents Magazine.[21]
