Joseph P. Lucadello(1911-1976) (also known as Ike Rosen) is a character in The Godfather Returns and The Godfather's Revenge, novels that continue the story of the Corleone family. Both are written by Mark Winegardner and based on the original novel The Godfather by Mario Puzo. He is missing one eye, and wore an eyepatch, and later a glass eye.
Lucadello, an informant to the Corleone family, is a CIA agent who originally enlists in the Canadian Air Force under Billy Bishop in 1941. Before this, he served in the Civilian Conservation Corps with Michael Corleone. Fearing Benito Mussolini's rise to power, the two falsify pilot's licenses to join Bishop, but Michael's father tips Bishop off, and Michael admits the truth to avoid damaging Lucadello's chances. After WWII ends in 1945, Lucadello leaves the Air Force and becomes a government agent for the CIA.
It was around this time that he was informing the Corleone family of the C.I.A doings and what it planned to do. Lucadello only met with Michael Corleone several times, although they were not specificlly for business. He was also the main assistant of the director, Albert Soffet.
Lucadello and Corleone meet for business several times throughout the years in the book. In 1959, Lucadello was assigned to take out Fidel Castro, president of Cuba. In 1962, after a Castro body double was killed, he was assigned to eliminate the assassin, Carmine Marino.
Lucadello also informs Nick Geraci, an enemy of Michael Corleone, that Corleone is planning to assassinate him. Corleone never discovers who betrayed him, and despite the fierce attempt to locate Geraci, he never finds him. Eventually, Lucadello is found dead with an icepick penetrating his only eye.
