Joe King (born May 25, 1980) is the rhythm guitarist, occasional vocalist, and co-founder of Colorado-based piano rock band The Fray.

Joe King was born on May 25, 1980 in Colorado. He attended Faith Christian Academy in Denver, Colorado.[1]
Before his success with The Fray, King attended school while he worked as an auto damage appraiser. He is married, and has two daughters.

King started the band, The Fray with vocalist/pianist Isaac Slade in 2002. King and Slade were former schoolmates who decided to start a band after meeting each other in a record store. Before forming The Fray, King had previously been in bands of his own, Spruce, and Fancy's Show Box.
On the band's first album How to Save a Life, King co-wrote every song except one ("Hundred") and provided lead vocals on the song "Heaven Forbid", which he wrote for his sister. He also provides vocals for "Uncertainty" and "Dixie" and an un-named song, which is performed at concerts. These three songs will possibly be on The Fray's next album.
According to an interview with the band's touring bassist, Jimmy Stofer, Joe King was only able to play eight different notes on his guitar during the recording of How To Save A Life. He is the oldest member of the band.
