Joseph Ingles (born October 2, 1987 in Happy Valley, South Australia) is an Australian professional basketball player. On March 17, 2006, he became the first player to sign with the South Dragons National Basketball League franchise. Is listed as Guard/Forward but has the versatility and ball handling to play at point guard.

Ingles played basketball at high school with Brad Newley, the 2005 NBL Rookie of the Year.[1] He has attended the Australian Institute of Sport for two years, and joined the Dragons after graduation, to prepare for the 2006-07 NBL season.

In the Dragon's first match in the NBL, the 18 year old created NBL history by scoring the most points by an Australian on debut - 29, from 11 of 15 from the field. His excellent first season in the NBL earned him the 2007 NBL Rookie of the Year award [2].

Many pundits are already tipping Ingles to one day represent Australia, and have suggested that he may play in the National Basketball Association in future.[3]
