Joe Cali

Joe Cali, is the author of The Type IV Upright Conversion Manual, an industrial artist, and inventor who has received several awards from the most prestigious engineering magazines.

Winner of the Mechanix Illustrated award two years in succession.

His work has also been shown in Machine Design magazine, Volkswagen Australia, Flat 4 in the United Kingdom, Pen World magazine, Elevator World Magazine and several other automobile and industrial design magazines worldwide.

Some of the most prestigious buildings in the world, the Chrysler Building, the Empire State Building and the late World Trade Center have examples of his mechanical designs.[citation needed]

An automotive engine and car designer and also known for his Deco Art. The most notable is the Cali-Deco Floating pen. His work can also be seen at many Art Deco sites. One of which is the Washington Art Deco Society under Industrial Art.

The CALI-STYLE is a name given to Joe's engine cooling shroud design. Joe has his own Forum for anyone in need of assistance when building a Cali Styled engine. His forum is called the "CALI-STYLE Upright Type IV Conversion Forum" [1]

At this time there are two Joe Cali's on this page. Two different people with the same name. Both wrote books, one on the engine Conversion from Porsche engines into the Classic VW Bug. The other on Travel.

The author of The Type IV Upright Conversion Manual, lives in New York.

The author of The Ultimate Family Road Trip, lives in Boston.

Joe Cali (b. February 12, 1960) is the author of the best selling book "The Complete Guide the Ultimate Family Road Trip". Written with the help of his entire family, including wife, Wendy, and children Christie and Joshua. Together the Cali's have travelled throughout the entire United States, and logged over 100,000 miles of Road Trips in the process.

Mr. Cali has been interviewed and quoted in many newspapers and magazines, including USA Today, The New York Times, National Geographic Traveler, and the Boston Globe, for his views on travel. He has also appeared on numerous news segments.

Mr. Cali, an Executive at Grand Circle Travel, in Boston, Mass. Was the recipient of the "Excellence in Community Service" Award in 2006 from the Grand Circle Charitable Foundation.
