Joe Ambler

Joe Ambler (born February 12, 1860, Lascelles Hall, Huddersfield, Yorkshire, England and died February 10, 1899, Lascelles Hall, Yorkshire) was an English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Yorkshire County Cricket Club and Somerset County Cricket Club. A right-handed batsman and a right-arm fast medium bowler and an occasionally wicketkeeper, Ambler played just 8 first-class games. He scored 197 runs at an average of 14.07 with a highest score of 76. He took 7 wickets at an average of 31.71 with a best of 4/54. He also took 5 catches and 2 stumpings. He died at the unfortunate age of 38.
